The CityWay Job Fair, Community Resource Fair, and Mobile Court brought employers, county agencies, and neighbors under one roof for a single day — and nobody went home empty-handed.
A resume is hard to hand over when you don't have a shirt to wear, a way to clear an old record, or a ride to the interview. So we put all of it in one building, on one day, at no cost.
Thirty-five companies and agencies took a table — staffing firms, healthcare, logistics, county government, banking, security, and the trades — meeting candidates face to face instead of through a portal.
A mobile court operated on site so neighbors could begin clearing an old record the same day they applied for work — removing the barrier that stops many applications before they start.
Racks of suits, slacks, shirts, and ties, available to anyone who needed something to wear to an interview. Take what fits, no questions asked.
Barbers worked through the day at no charge, and lunch was served to every attendee. Walking in ready matters as much as the resume.
